4 out of 5 stars Better than any other sweatband I've used   January 7, 2010
bigE (DFW, TX)
I bought one of these for myself to use while mountain biking. I liked it so much that I bought 2 more as gifts! Expensive for a headband, yes, but its benefits outweigh the $20 price tag. My only complaint is that sometimes it hits the earpieces of my glasses while riding which causes some discomfort. I just reposition it and it works great! I highly recomend it if you have to wear a helmet, hard-hat, etc because of its small size. It looks much better than a traditional headband as well. I would not recommend getting the camo headband if you plan to use it outdoors. I've dropped mine a couple of times and the camo is pretty effective at making it difficult to see in the grass...

5 out of 5 stars Works amazingly well (caveat: not for all activities)   December 21, 2009

This simple plastic (or whatever) head band works far better than I was expecting. Other headbands have been effective but only to a certain point. For example, the cloth headbands I have used kept the sweat off my face but would become saturated halfway through my workout. Another problem I've had is bands that are tight and give me a headache. The sweat gutr solves the problem of saturation by channeling the sweat to the side and is easily adjustable for most head types. My head is on the big side and I was worried when I read some of the reviews. The three different size bands made fitting the gutr easy. I'm not trying to be insulting, but you would have to have a pretty big head for this not to fit.
I get distracted easily when I workout but the gutr has helped me focus more. Seems like a stretch, but for me not having to wipe my face every few minutes helps me to concentrate on my workout and "get in the zone."
I have mostly used the gutr for running, outside and on a treadmill. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing a sweat band; when the sweat channels off the side I barely notice. The first few times I wore it I would touch the side of my face because I didn't feel like I was sweating. However, if you do something that doesn't allow for you head to be up most of the time, the gutr may not work. A couple times using the gutr I would look down at something and some sweat would spill out. Not a big deal, but if your head is down a lot the gutr might be counter-productive.

4 out of 5 stars I like it   October 30, 2009

It works well. I have been suffered from sweat to my eyes until using this one. Better than head band. I give it 4 stars because I think the price is a little high.

5 out of 5 stars No Sweat & No Headache   October 19, 2009

The GUTR is amazing. You hardly notice its on. Sweat rolls past my eyes and off my face. When taking it off after working out it's like the Hoover Dam for sweat.

4 out of 5 stars Works exactly as advertised, but no panecea   October 6, 2009

Ordered the GUTR for riding in Houston TX when it is 95 degrees out and 114% humidity. Now some might say that 100% is the maximum amount on the humidity scale. But those people have not ridden in Houston TX on a day like today. In October. Yes.

As other reviews, GUTR is a little rain gutter for your forehead. It is comfortable, and with three sizes of elastic stretch bands I was able to fit my watermelon-sized noggin. It is not noticeable under a helmet, but would probably look pretty dorky without.

It kept most, but not all the sweat off my eyes. Apparently I also sweat via my eyebrows or something. Not perfect, but at least I could see where I was going for once.

Only improvement I'd make is to add a little downspout and filter so one could recycle one's water and electrolytes a la the Stilsuit in Dune. Otherwise, it does the best it can.
